On 1 May 2026 the monthly cost of new server purchases increased. A VPS bought before then keeps its previous monthly cost at its current size or smaller until its plan is next changed; the previous price has no expiry date.

What you can change on a plan bought before 1 May 2026

  • You can keep or lower the memory and storage, but not increase them.
  • At the smallest size there is no drop-down to choose from.
  • Trying to increase them shows a message such as "Memory must not exceed the size maximum", "Storage must not exceed the plan maximum", "Data transfer must not exceed the plan maximum" or "Transfer must not exceed the size maximum".
  • These messages are about the plan your VPS is on, not about resources being unavailable.

Important: Confirming an increase moves that VPS to current pricing and reboots it to apply the new resources. Review the monthly cost shown on the Change Plan page before you confirm.

How to increase memory or storage

Any increase in memory or storage, or a move to any current plan, moves that server to current pricing. Only the VPS you change is affected. To do it:

  1. Open the Change Plan page and select the VPS: https://home.binarylane.com.au/server/-/change-plan
  2. Select the current plan with the same vCPU count (usually the option beneath your current one). The memory and storage drop-downs then unlock.
  3. Choose the memory and storage you want. The prospective monthly change in cost is shown at the bottom of the page.
  4. Nothing is applied until you confirm. As with any change of plan, the VPS reboots to apply the new resources.

Check the cost shown at the bottom of the Change Plan page before you confirm, because confirming an increase moves the server to current pricing.
