If a plan is unavailable in a region, you can check current capacity, deploy elsewhere, or move an existing VPS before changing its plan. This article explains each option and what to expect.

What "unavailable" means
If a plan is greyed out on the New Server page, or mPanel shows "We currently do not have resources available to provision a server on this plan", that plan size cannot be created in that region at the moment. If a plan increase on an existing server reports insufficient available resources, the larger plan cannot be placed in the VPS's current region at the moment.
Availability for each plan size changes hour to hour, so trying again a little later often works. Smaller plans are often available in a region when larger ones are not.
Where can I see what is available right now?
The mPanel New Server page, https://home.binarylane.com.au/add-server, shows which plans can be created in each region right now. Plans that are not available in a region are greyed out there. The Change Plan page for an existing server only shows that server's current region, so use the New Server page to see other regions. Availability can change at any moment, so check the page again whenever you are ready to deploy.
Deploy in another region now and move later
If you need a server straight away, you can create it in another region and move it to your preferred region later. You can do all of this yourself in mPanel:
- Open the New Server page (https://home.binarylane.com.au/add-server) and choose a region where your plan is available.
- Create the server there and set it up as usual.
- When the plan shows as available in your preferred region, migrate the server there by following How to Migrate Your Server (Change Location).
Migration is live: the server keeps running, is not rebooted and keeps its IPv4 addresses. Servers with public IP addresses can move between Australian regions, but not between Australia and Singapore; VPC-only servers without public IP addresses can move between the two. The destination region must have capacity for your server when you start the move.
Important: Changing to a larger plan requires a reboot, which causes a short outage. The plan change is separate from migrating the VPS to another region.
My plan upgrade is blocked
If you cannot increase memory or change to a larger plan because the server's region does not have the resources, first try again a little later. If you need the upgrade sooner:
- On the New Server page (https://home.binarylane.com.au/add-server), find a region where the larger plan is available.
- Migrate your VPS to that region (How to Migrate Your Server (Change Location)).
- Once the migration has finished, change the VPS plan. The plan change is a separate step from the migration and, as with any plan change, needs a reboot to take effect.
- When your preferred region has capacity for the larger plan again, migrate the server back.
Will cancelling another server free up resources for mine?
No. A cancelled server stays in a cancelled state until the system removes it automatically after a set period, and only then do its resources return to the general pool. Resources from a cancelled server cannot be reserved for, or directed to, a particular server.
Do you still operate in my location?
Yes. A plan being unavailable in a region at the moment does not change where we operate. BinaryLane has six locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Singapore. See Where are BinaryLane servers located? for the data centre in each.
When will the plan be available again?
We can't give a date for when a plan will become available in a particular region. The New Server page (https://home.binarylane.com.au/add-server) is the live view of what you can create right now, and you can deploy in another region in the meantime and migrate later. We aim to post updates on our Discord channel at discord.gg/binarylane when new resources are provisioned.
