Is DNS hosting free?
Yes. DNS hosting is included free with an active BinaryLane account, so there is nothing extra to buy. It is not sold as a separate product, there is no paid DNS plan, and we do not offer a paid DNS review, audit or management service.
Nameservers
Use the following nameserver hostnames when configuring your domain. Their IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are listed for reference.

BinaryLane DNS hosting accepts DNS queries over IPv4 and IPv6. It supports both A records for IPv4 addresses and AAAA records for IPv6 addresses. The connection used to query DNS is separate from the address returned: an IPv4 DNS query can return an IPv6 address, and vice versa.
Supported record types
- A: IPv4 addresses
- AAAA: IPv6 addresses
- CNAME: domain aliases
- TXT: text records
- CAA: certificate authority authorisation
- SRV: service records
- MX: mail servers
- NS: delegate a subdomain to other nameservers (the nameservers for the domain itself are set at your registrar; NS records on the root domain are not supported)
Time to live (TTL)
- DNS hosting records: 1 hour.
- VPS and dedicated server PTR (reverse DNS) records: 12 hours.
DNSSEC
Our system does not support DNSSEC records. Domain names that require DNSSEC should not be transferred into or registered via BinaryLane. We also cannot submit DS records to the registry for domain names registered through us.
Error messages when adding a domain or saving records
- "Domain is being deleted." The DNS zone you removed for this domain is still being cleaned up. Once that finishes, add the domain to DNS hosting again from mPanel's Domains page and recreate its records; there is nothing you need to do in the meantime. The classic panel shows the same message when you save records for a zone that was deleted elsewhere, such as in another browser tab or the new mPanel; re-add the domain from the new mPanel's Domains page.
- "Domain name already in use." The domain is already set up in DNS hosting on another BinaryLane account. If you have a second BinaryLane account, log in to that account to manage the domain's records.
- "Domain already exists in your account." The domain is already in this account's DNS hosting, often from an earlier attempt or because a colleague added it, so there is nothing to add. Open mPanel's Domains page and select the domain to see and edit its records.
