Two-step verification adds an extra layer of security for your account by requiring you to enter a verification code in addition to your username and password, when signing in to your account. Even if your password is cracked, guessed, or otherwise stolen, an attacker can't sign in without access to the verification codes, which can only be obtained via your mobile phone.

We're using the open source Google Authenticator project - clients are available on a variety of platforms, including  Android and  iOS. Google Authenticator is a mobile application that allows you to generate 2-step verification codes on your smartphone without a network connection.

To enable Google Authenticator on your account, please follow these steps:

  • Log into your BinaryLane account (https://www.binarylane.com.au/login).
  • At the top of the page, select `Account`.
  • Inside the `Security` panel, click the `Change` button next to `Google Authenticator:` .
  • On your device, using an Authenticator application (like Google Authenticator), scan the generated QR code (recommended) or enter the 16-character 'Secret Key'.
  • Once you've added this session to your device, you should see a six digit verification code - you'll need to put this in the field next to `Enter your six digit verification code:`, followed by clicking `Enable` to enable Google Authenticator.
